Getting into retro gaming consoles has opened up some interesting doors for me that I would not have otherwise known existed. Take the retro game competition in Northern Kentucky as an example, and you can imagine my elation when I managed to book a fabulous furnished apartment in Hebron Kentucky for the festivities from the great team at Valley View Furnished Condos.
In previous years, I had simply stumbled upon local communities and gaming networks, some of which were kind enough to let me join as a guest. It was a really fascinating trend to see emerging and I loved how it really seemed to sprout up from pretty much everywhere.
No matter where people lived or what their backgrounds were, the gaming space really seemed to be the great equalizer and broke down barriers for a lot of people to get to know each other that might not have otherwise mixed. There are many people who rock up to the tournaments who you might not otherwise expect to be so good in these games, and then they will just crush the competition left and right!
Because the threshold for these tournaments is so high, I was thrilled and surprised and also a bit nervous when I was invited for the tournament in Northern Kentucky. I didn’t really know what to expect, and the little voice in the back of my mind telling me that they had mixed me up with someone else certainly wasn’t helping.

With only the first round complete so far, I am still riding pretty high! I managed to do really well in the preliminary round and first round, so I am optimistic for the next rounds to come.
